My partner has type 2 diabetes, hes on dapagliflozin 10mg a day as metaformin didnt work well with his stomach.

He's got ibs and fatty liver.

I'm finding it hard to find things that work. Most say low carb higher fats but he can't have higher fats and whilst im keeping his carbs to under 120g,

Try to access a diabetes dietitian/educator.

We're trying. He's had diabetes for 3yrs but never been referred to anyone, been pushing a lot but I think he's just over the lack of help.  It doesn't help that his family are all diabetic or prediabetic, and he knows hes been taught badly from a young age about eating habits.

Protein shakes like Fairlife help

I'll look into more healthy fats, he does love nuts so that's an idea and adding in protein shake during the day.

Partner add in some exercise to decrease the fatty liver?

I can try. He works long hours, 12+ but is a coach Driver so a lot of sitting around.

Ouuf.. those are long hours. Id say even 15-30 min intense workouts will help decrease fatty liver.

Tell me about it. Started at 3am yesterday and home at 4.30pm 🫠 Not even his longest day this week.  I'll talk to him about it. I think the start will always be the hardest but once he feels improvement, itll get easier and also become habitual.

On top of the recs from the other comments, soluble fiber is GREAT for IBS, but it also needs to be added slowly. One thing that helped me with my IBS and diverticulitis symptoms is chia seeds, you soak them and they get this gelatinous texture that is very gross to the touch but I swear it's like bowel lube.

Also, it's important to know exactly which foods trigger his IBS, and play with the safe foods. But yeah, soluble fiber should help and a lot of veggies are rich in those, like sweet potatoes and broccoli, fruits like pears which are also great for diabetics, and beans and legumes.

I used to have really bad IBS and I have severe diverticulitis (currently on the waitlist for a colectomy) and I'm on a high fiber diet. Haven't had any IBS symptoms in months.
