UPS Stole Supplies

shared by: safrigmius · · 💙 16 · 💬 10 · Join the discussion

Tldr; UPS said they "misdelivered" supplies. Have been no help whatsoever. Don't know my next steps.

I receive my Tandem insulin pump supplies and Dexcom G7 through mail order. UPS said it was delivered on December 31st. The proof of delivery said "met customer", so there is no picture proof.

You call UPS and you escalate. Keep asking for someone higher up until they understand and do something. Those are MEDICAL SUPPLIES. Period. This is a really big deal.

If they can’t locate the package, then they need to corroborate your account, acknowledge their fuck up, and speak to whoever you order supplies from and say it was never delivered.

You can also escalate within the supplier, too. Keep asking for a supervisor until they get and, and can ship a replacement. You are entitled to those supplies.

I had to yell at UPS for screwing up a delivery before. They can fix it, but you have to go higher up on the food chain to talk to someone who actually has the authority to help.

Thank you so much. I will do this today. My supplier isn't open until Monday, but I will get right on UPS again.

I'd skip UPS and call the supplier and explain the situation.

I will try that again when they open back up on Monday. I tried explaining it to the first person who answered, but I am going to get a manager this time.

Guarantee they have shipping insurance/contracts with UPS. Just speak to them, be friendly, but stern and explain the situation. They'll have some process. If it comes down to the wire - call Dexcom and tell the support rep you speak to, they'll usually send out a loaner to make sure you can keep your therapy going. Only deal with UPS if you're told to from the supplier to get a statement or something, that's their job, not yours.

In my experience, I’ve had plenty of packages stolen by UPS. They’ve stolen my prescriptions and jewelry. I will not buy from any company that ships via UPS.

I once waited weeks for my insulin pump supplies, only to find UPS "delivered" them to a neighbor. I felt helpless calling daily. I learned documenting everything and involving my supplier early helped finally get my supplies.
