How do you recover from workouts?

As implied, how do you typically recover?

M26 5’7” 180lbs and I am a former collegiate athlete who was diagnosed Type 1 suddenly about 18months ago. Since my diagnosis, I’ve found it extremely difficult to stay consistent and active in the gym as it feels like my recovery has doubled or tripled. I

I’m not sure what you are talking about. I’ve been type 1 since 10 years old (37 now)

Always lifted, and heavy. Still do. My soreness is no worse than my peers and i’m in better shape than most of them.

5’8.5 and 180lbs with low body fat.

I think the difference is that you’ve had it most of your life and have been able to grow and progress whilst being type 1. Diabetes is new to me, something I haven’t had experience with until recently.

I used to recover with 24-48hrs from any workout regardless of intensity and now it takes double to triple that.

I think those days are long gone for you. Take it easy.

I’ve been working on this tv wall and had to rip out our gas fire place and floor to lace it in. And I’m hurting all over. My hands hurt so bad. I’m having a hard time recovering.

Type 1 can be linked to other disease that will make you tired. Check for celiac & hashimoto.
I was tired all the time a few years ago and it was diagnosed with celiac. Some doctors always test for it when doing bloodwork and some don’t.

Never even considered this! I’ve got an endo appointment Friday so I’ll bring it up then. Pretty confident there’s no celiac (ya boy LOVES barley and oats) but I’ll definitely see about getting a thyroid panel done.
