Hello everyone, I just received my bloodwork results this morning for fasting glucose wnd insulin (for the first time) and both indicators are pretty scay to me, my insulin is at 14.35 and my blood sugar is at 1.1 after over 16 hours of fasting.. Hmmm… that blood sugar (glucose) number looks odd to me? Mine runs from 70-100 when controlled; was dx’d when it was 130 fasting.

Not horrible, but definitely T2D.

The metrics are different, mine would be 110. And Yeah I guessed that much, I'll discuss what I can do with my doctor because I don't think it's an insulin resistance stage anymore

I also have hypothyroidism and PCOS, and type 2 diabetes. I’m on metformin and mounjaro- if your doctor brings up medication, it really does help!

My doctor didn't even bring up insulin resistance probably because I'm overweight but not obese, so I went ahead and got tested on my own but I'll definitely bring it up, cause I heard that it's reversible or can at least be put in remission

I’m not a doctor, but once your levels hit a certain point I’ve been told it’s sort of that way forever. “Once a diabetic always a diabetic” is said here a lot. My fasting glucose is between 80-90 now and my total a1c is 5.3, but I’m still diabetic even though it’s well controlled.

I was also only overweight and not obese. I was diagnosed with type 2 at 155lbs. So I feel you. No one bothered to test my blood until it was too late. I had a 13.8 a1c and 446 glucose!

We're literally the same weight actually! That's fascinating! Yeah I'll look into lifestyle changes and any medications my doctor will prescribe for me, being in remission helps a lot and I hope you stay in remission. We were snipped in the bud with pcos and hypothyroidism ugh

And I have sooooooo manyyyy other chronic physical and mental illnesses lol. I managed to become a lawyer though so I’m chugging along! And I’ve dropped to 120lbs!
