Hey friend!

I understand where you’re coming from. I am 30 years in and I feel this exact way sometimes.

T1D is nefarious. It is insidious.

I have 7 other autoimmune diseases. The others have definitely been some of the biggest drains to my QOL.

And diabetes has always been there to make it worse. Blood sugar is directly related to my ostomy output. Diabetes is harder to manage because I have a fuck load of inflammation.

Every single non-autoimmune problem I have? Caused by diabetes. Frozen shoulder? More common in diabetics. Trigger finger? More common in diabetics and I HAVE SIX that are affected with FOUR that require surgery.

If you google any random body concern, diabetes is a contributing factor. Everything.

And it takes the MOST work to manage. Severe IBD? Just take pi

Diabetes fucking suuuuucks!!!! I’m glad you’re still here and still making an effort ♥️🐛

Please ignore if you don’t want advice: I know this post was mostly to vent, but I’m wondering if you’ve tried finding snacks that are low carb and high fat? Might be able to avoid a poke but still eat something and try to gain weight? Also, have you been able to try different brands of sensors? I’ve only tried dex and libre but maybe you’ll have better luck with a different brand of hardware. Again, I hope this advice isn’t unwanted and pls ignore if so 🌝

Thank u so very much❤️

And yeah actually i have, i absolutely love light greek yogurt (helps keep my protein up), heavy whipping cream in EVERYTHING😅 and stuff like avocados and nuts too. But i still have to be careful cuz ive tried just having low carb for a few days before and had the worst ketones doing so :/ its mad annoying… so i HAVE to have substantial carbs most of the day. Idk why im so sensitive to ketones man, literally just at a Trace i feel sick as a dog😭

And yeaaah- ive used Dexcoms G7 and currently fighting with Libre 3 Plus (which im sad because they were FANTASTIC the first 6 months.. so i really feel like its my body screaming for a break💔). Issue is im uninsured (its more affordable for my family in most areas) so i cant bounce around with sensors that much if they d

Ugh yes there is always something else to deal with when it comes to diabetes 😪

I really hope your sensors begin working normally, that is such an infuriating issue. I hope you’re getting free replacements from Libre too!! Even if it is just because of something to do with your body, GET THE FREE SENSOR!! There’s a slight chance you’ve just gotten several duds (I know unlikely, but the slight chance makes me want to make sure you’re getting replacements!)

Thank u so much🥺🙏🏼 and yessss ive already put in my online form!! Hopefully they will replace this one too (they’ve already done it 3x and i feel so bad for it😭) but ik Libre is waaaay more forgiving with replacements than stingy dexcom
