Flu/cold days with Type 1 are honestly brutal. Woke up around 7:30am already feeling off, sugar was ~9, injected 7 units and had 1.5 slices of toast + eggs (I usually do 5–6 units for this). By mid-morning it shot up to 18, so I did a 5-unit correction around 10am. It eventually came down to ~9. For

I’m very new to diabetes so I’ve not much to add other than to agree with you. This has been my experience too. Any sickness and the glucose levels are much more volatile both up and down. Good luck and get well soon!

It’s a studied fact that glycemic variability increases during stress and any illness is a physical stress. Kindly take vaccines yearly for flu and pneumococcal vaccine as suggested by your doctor.
