Update on Recent Diagnosis

This is my first post on Reddit as I normally come on just to check things out. At the end of September, I went to the emergency room, experiencing symptoms of what I eventually found out was Type 2 diabetes. I could barely walk into the hospital and to be perfectly honest, I wasn’t going to the doc

Congrats!! Those are AMAZING numbers!! You should be so so proud of yourself, that's impressive!

Isn't it the best feeling to get a check up and seeing such good results? I had a similar thing and it made the end of the year have that feeling of fresh starts and bright future ahead again.

You're managing it amazingly if you went down from 14 to 5.4. My A1C went down from 9.4 in August to 5.1 in December and my diabetes team was super excited.

Re: motivation to exercise, what has worked for me is finding an exercise I enjoy. I cycle and do pilates, and have added walks as much as I can, but I also listen to my body and if one day I'm too tired or overwhelmed, I don't *force* myself to exercise. And I've actually found myself seeking more time to be active because it's now associated

Fantastic!

I will say, keep snacks of some kind (candy or juice preferable for me) and your meter while exercising. Tanking is very possible with being that low. You'll hopefully know if it happens.

I do a lot of cycling myself. Over 22 miles in a day a few weeks ago, but I average about 5 a day. I'm hypo unaware, so I also wear a CGM.

I've lost 60 as well, but thats been over sever all years
