I have had type 2 for 6 years. Suddenly started experiencing neuropathy 6 weeks ago, docs think it is diabetic although isn't sure. I am panicking as to stop it progressing I have to get my 102 HbA1c down to 40 or below. I have just been given rapid insulin and slow insulin to replace my indetermina

There is some evidence the alpha lipoic acid can help reduce diabetic neuropathy. I’ve used it briefly and also heard good things anecdotally. Could help in the interim, but getting your blood glucose under control is the best thing.

Low B vitamin levels can also cause tingling in the peripheries, so it could be good to have your B1 and B12 levels checked to rule out deficiencies. Or you could add in a B complex. B vitamins are water soluble, so we pee out the extras which is why your pee can turn bright yellow but also means it is hard to take too much.
