Has anyone gotten extremely high (>25000) results back? I'm starting to freak out the more I keep looking into it. I'm new to this and have only met with my Endo once and when I asked about it she said..

"It is unusual to have such high levels of that antibody. But we have you on insulin treatment

You dont have to worry for 3 months. But understand that monitoring and further workup is appropriate. There is no emergency and no indication of need for immediate treatment. If it were, your doctor would do a further workup right away. The problem here is you have lingering questions. Compile a list of questions you have for your doctor and ask them. If you aren't satisfied with the response or don't trust the response, then get a second opinion.

Thank you... Even the slightest reassurance helps with the anxiety.

I was that high. I’ve been on insulin for a year and my c-peptide has maintained during that time. I’m not sure how meaningful that antibody is other than telling docs, oh yeah, you’re really on your way to fully insulin dependent type 1, absolutely no doubt. If you’ve already accepted the diagnosis I don’t think this number is very useful. I don’t think about it and they don’t re-measure it. (Not a doctor, ask yours).

This is extremely helpful. My c-peptide is not quite 0 but close so I mean... I've accepted it .. I just couldn't find anywhere where someone had that high of a number. Scared me.

Edit: I'd thumbs up you twice if I could. I hate feeling alone lol

I just call myself an over-achiever. I guarantee that in the millions of T1D folks there are many for just about any circumstance you could come up with. We’re absolutely not alone. We got this. I’m very well controlled now and it took me some experimenting to get here. It was stressful for sure and one of the best things I did was get a therapist to help me develop some coping techniques for the long road ahead. Staying strong mentally is the keystone to the rest. 💪🧠
