Went to Japan for two weeks earlier this year and didn’t get any kind of certificate. Brought Rxs just in case of emergency, but that was all. I’m on MDI so I brought a full box of pen needles, and more pens than I’d need just in case anything got lost. Smooth sailing, no issues going there or coming back.

I spent 8 nights in Japan with approx a months worth of insulin, they pulled me to the side and I presented a medical cert from my doctor, they were more concerned about the ice pack I had rather than the insulin. Lol.

Get a frio to pack insulin, I have only once been asked about it. I think they only went through my bag for the candle and saw that too

Went to Japan and brought all kinds of supplies between vials, OmniPod, sensors, everything. No one said a word to me about it

European Union citizen. I went to Japan in August 2025 for three weeks. We flew through Hong Kong, and I had all of my supplies in my carry-on. There was no issue at all. I took about twice as many supplies as I would normally need. I expected issues with the infusion sets and sensors not lasting due to sweating in high humidity. I read about the certificate, but I came to the conclusion I didn't need it. It never came up, it was never needed. I researched some emergency care in case, but it was not necessary either.

Enjoy Japan!
